DESCRIPTION
Description:
Clove is widely cultivated in Indonesia, SriLanka, Madagascar, Tanzania, and Brazil. It is a natural analgaesic and antiseptic used primarily in dentistry for its main ingredient eugenol.; it is also often found in the aromatherapy section of health food stores. The oil produced by cloves can be used in many things from flavouring medicine to remedies for bronchitis, the common cold, a cough, fever, sore throat and tending to infections. It is used in limited amounts in food products as a fragrant, flavoring agent, and antiseptic.

It blends well with Basil, benzoin, cinnamon, lavender, ginger,sandalwood and clary sage.

Constituents:
The main ingradiant of clove is Eugenol which comprises 72-90% of the essential oil extracted from cloves, Other important essential oil constituents of clove oil include acetyl eugenol, beta- caryophyllene and vanillin; crategolic acid; tannins, gallotannic acid, methyl salicylate the flavonoids eugenin, kaempferol, rhamnetin, and eugenitin; triterpenoids like oleanolic acid, stigmasterol and campesterol; and several sesquiterpenes.

Uses:
Clove oil is an effective cure for acne, bruises, burns and cuts, keeping infection at bay and as a pain reliever. Also, it helps with toothache, mouth sores, rheumatism and arthritis.It is also of use for skin problems especially for skin sores and leg ulcers and as an insect repellent
